Well I recieved my new (to me) russian SKS.Haven't really had a chance to strip and clean it or do a complete inspection, but it looks in great shape. Also got two boxs of surplus ammo.and yes its in the tin that everyone says is a real pain to open. What bothers me about the ammo is it has to be marked explosive,to be shipped. When the delivery man arrived at the door he was full of questions, what is it etc,I think this practice is just setting someone up for a possible break in,Those who have seen the boxes maybe awere of what it is and your address is on the box for all to see,Or if you have a delivery man who might be on the shady side he knows where there is firearms etc.whats everyones thoughts on this?

What's "funny" about the "requirement" to mark ammunition as "explosive", is that it is not an explosive... The rate at which it "burns" is NOT fast enough to be classified as an explosive... Now, the primer... THAT'S an explosive IIRC.

Cheers
Jay
P.S. I also agree with you about marking packages, putting ANY indication as to what's in there is just an incentive to steal it... Heck, diamonds are shipped WITHOUT insurance or i.d., otherwise we'd have people opening packages and then jumping on planes outta the country when they see the package is insured for 10 million bucks...

I had fireworks shipped to me and the person who delivered it dropped it on the ground in front of me and kicked them inside the door. I was in shock and couldn't even form a proper response to her "you shouldn't be buying these" statement.
