Reciever sights: What would you mount on a naked barrel?

If you had your preferences, what would you mount on a clean gun with no existing irons, and how would you have the sights mounted?

What is the gun going to be used for? Longer range, bush, quick shooting, shots where you have setup time, etc....

Are the sights primary or backup to a scope. Do you also want to mount a scope at the same time?

They would be short to medium range leaning to accuracy, but still rugged enough to survive hunting and backpacking. I would take the iris out or get a larger one (eg. Williams twilight aperture) for quick shots.

Instead of a scope (I think the aperture sight would be mounted in the tapped holes on the receiver).

Thinking G2 Contender with factory 23" barrel.

Turns out the largest I.D. won't fit the Contender's .809 bbl diameter. Maybe I can adapt a Remington front sight or a Williams or something...
