I'm new to reloading and want to make sure I get this right. I got some 147gr fmj rn and some bullseye pistol powder from a gun show but I cannot find any recipe for it. I also have some hodgdon h110 pistol powder. Can I use one of these combinations until I use it up and does anybody have recipes to share.
Thanks

Bullseye it a bit on the fast side for that combination but will work, however you will not get high velocities. H-110 (which is also renamed W296) is much too slow a powder for the tiny 9mm case.

Also note in the above load of 4.0gr Bullseye, that the cartridge is loaded on the long side at 1.145" OAL. DON'T shorten the OAL without working up a load. The longer OAL keeps peak pressures down and shortening it can increase pressure SUBSTANTIALLY, especially with a fast powder like Bullseye.

Note that Winchester has a warning that W298 loads NOT be reduced more than 3%. There isn't enough volume in the 9mm case to stuff in enough H-110 to get pressures high enough to make the powder perform as it should.

I generally load as long as the gun will feed.

For the above load, the data shows a min OAL 1.140"...the 1.145" length that I load isnt really all that long, but with the bullets Im using right now, this seems to be the Happy length.

scale zeroed?

Kind of a stupid question but I think its allowed because I'm new at this. Does a 147 grain projectile weight 147 grains. The reason I ask is because my scale weights it out at 146.6 and might need caliberated.

Power Pistol from Alliant is factory fill in many 9 mm loads. Accurate Arms number 7 is also a very good 9 mm powder. Check various loading manuals and the powder manufactures websites.
