I everybody, I need a recipe for a low recoil slug for IPSC shotgun match and one for OO buckshot load. I use a Moosberg 940 JM Pro. I plan to use LEE 7/8 or 1oz slug. I tink a 1200fps should be the goal but it should feed 100% in my semi-auto. Some suggestions please...

Want cheap slugs.

Find some 3D printed tools and use bird shot. I dump the shot, cast to slugs and put the slugs back in. I do use 7/8oz slugs but issues are the slug are way shorter than the shotcups. As for accuracy, Ive gotten ragged holes at 25 yards.

Im testing thicker felt wads to help the shorter 7/8oz slugs from rattling around.

One tool cuts the inner folded crimp out. Leaving the outer crimp and shot cup in. The other supports the shell to help push the slug back thru the folded crimp.

Any 7/8 or 1oz shot load could be used for data.

Pulling a target load and loading less weight idk probably have a lot of unburnt powder especially if you mess up the crimp. I just take a screw put it I the centre of the crimp and use that to pop up a section of it then work in a small screw driver to unfold the crimp.

Using cheap target loads is the cheapest way though and you don’t have to buy powder or primers.

That looks great! tfs
now to find the tools and see if they have 20 ga.
I think garandrite used a glass cutter hole bit on a drill, for his 20 ga wax slugs. Did the same thing, remove the inner section while leaving the outer.

You can print a holder for shells, this is for roll crimping.

I just did not want to get another press for loading shot shells.
