Recipes for 5.56 WS-MCR?

Hey everyone, I just picked myself up a WS-MCR with the new SPEC 180 lower and I’m about to break the rifle in. I’ll be working on some load development for it after that. I’m wondering if anyone has worked up some good loads for this rifle? Anything I’ve seen online is it likes the heavier bullets (62gr-70gr). Any suggestions?

26.5gr BLC-2 with just about any 55gr bullet (@2.250) should give you about 2 moa, 23.2gr Benchmark with a 75gr BTHP (@2.250) has been good for sub 1.5 moa 10 rd groups.

I have loaded truckloads of 5.56 with 55 grain bullets of all kinds with 27.0 grains of W748. Often it would shoot MOA.

Any idea what kind of velocities you’re getting with that load?

I've been using 22.6 grains of N130 with 55gr FMJ Campro bullets at 2.55 OAL. On a good day, I've seen MOA performance but I usually see about 2 to 3 MOA in a session.

I did in fact chronograph that load out of a mini 14 years ago. I am afraid that both that data and that gun is long gone. I want to say it was approximately 3075 fps out of an 18" barrel though - but I cannot say for certain. I have been out of the 5.56 game for years and want to get a bolt gun in that caliber now.
