Something just occured to me, looking for opinions. I'm not a hunter at this time but hoping to get my first hunting experience this year. Since it's pretty well documented that various species of animals have a fairly high rate of rabies infection (coons, skunks, foxes etc...). Are big game animals such as bear, deer and moose subject to the disease also ? How could one recognize the symptoms in a large game animal ? How would you then deal with the situation ? What if a hunter harvests an animal which is rabid, but fails to recognize it, is there a way to still process the animal in a safe manner ?
