I'm wondering about that lever thing built into the buttstock of the T97.
It's supposed to be a recoil dampener, but how exactly does it work?
I suspect the bolt carrier bumps it as it comes rearward. Does the lower half then kick the gun forward at exactly the same time, cancelling out some of the recoil?
Any other theories?

Aluminum versus Steal...
Who cares about whip and vibration. These things are made to last ;)
Wonder what this rifle will be like say after 5,000 rounds?

I believe the "dampening thingy" has a small piston in it. When the bolt carrier comes back, it strikes the thingy, pivoting it forward, where the piston strikes a cup, depresses the piston, and dissipates energy. My Skorpion has a similar idea, using a pivot that pushes a weight/spring combo, that lives in the handle. Neato stuff.
