Recoil of M2 tactical versus M4

Having had both, I found the M4 to be a bit lighter in recoil than the M2 (everything else being equal).

That said, I really enjoyed them both.

I don't find the M4 to be particularly soft shootin' for a big heavy gas gun, but still it must have at least 1/3 less felt recoil than the M2.

the m4 is approximately 1 pound heavier than the m2. that is the biggest reason for any reduced felt recoil. last time I shot one I couldn't feel a noticeable difference, I could easily shoot both for hours.

Thanks for the feedback.

I bought a M2 tactical 6 weeks ago, beautiful gun that operates really well, but I have been getting a really sore body, feels like muscle strain, bone bruising who knows what but gave it a rest for a week and tried shooting again today and still sore, right chest wall about 1.5-2" below the clavicle, was just wondering if the M4 would recoil much less.

Been shooting pumps for years and never had this issue, wondering if I have been firing a lot more shells maybe, Also wondering if since is my first semi if I am not setting the body up properly before pulling the trigger again, I guess a pump almost forces you to adjust the body before pulling the trigger again.

Not really sure but seems like the difference in recoil the M4 will probably not make much of a difference.

What stock are you running?

Stock fit can make a crucial difference depending on the shooter.

Having both and shot prob 10k+ in the m4 and more then 100k in the m2
The m2 has more felt recoil.
But it's also faster.
M4 is my favorite benelli I own other then the collapsible stock. So I have thr hk style fixed stock.
