recoil pad recommendations?

I want a recoil pad for my 7mm RM Savage. It has a hell of a snappy recoil when shooting heavier rounds. Any suggestions? I've never bought one before...

A Limb saver recoil pad or Pachmayer's Decelerator pad both work well. Do a google search and you will find what you need.

I like both Limbsaver & Pachmayr

the LS R3 is uglier, but works just as good as the nicer looking Decelerator.

since its a Savage, you could stick to the theme with the R3

LOL too funny.....I would agree either of the two would do the job quite nicely....

If the 7mm is too much gun for you then get someone else to do your shootin' for you. Probably not going to get the same accuracy but then there is no sore shoulder , flinch or scope eye.

a simple fix like a recoil pad can make guns that hurt before, not

most shooters have no problem shooting 7mm Mag/30-06, with practice

I have never used any of the R3 pads but a friend has one and he warned me to be carefull if I ever use one not to get any bore solvent on it, his has gotten soft and sticky and doesn't seem to want to return to it's original consistency. Just an opinion.

I got some tape residue on one of my R3, and it ate it away a bit. Little balls of rubber roll off... looks gross, and will be replaced with a Decelerator someday

I have an R3 on a 300Win Mag. makes a hell of a lot of a difference. looks good too.

The limbsaver is the better one for recoil absoption, but I find it is too sticky for my liking. It catches on clothing much more than any other pad I have used.

My M700CDL in 35 Whelen came with the R3 Pad and I love it! Takes the bite right out of those stiff 250 grain loads. Regards, Eagleye.
