Recoil Pads?

Is there a differance between rifle and shotgun recoil pads?Need to put on on a old Model 12 (win) as the old red one is falling to piece,crumbling etc.

Generally yes different pad styles for each... for a shotgun, either a Simms R3 Limbsaver, Pachmayr Decelerator Old English or Kick-Ezz pad works pretty well. If you want to go to the trouble of replacing what was on the gun almost exactly, Galazan manufactures and supplies "correct period" pads, such as the Hawkins ... ( red rubber pads that look just like the originals ) ...last I looked at them they were about $ 30 US. No matter what, fitting the pad will be required.
Generally best to have a good gunsmith/stockmaker do it for you ... real easy for the hobbyist/handy man to screw-up. !

The R3 Limbsaver though is for Remington products but their website has templates so you can find one that will fit your Model 12 or they also make a couple of sizes of grindable pads.
