Got myself a 870 tactical with that stock. Brand new and i haven't had the chance to fire it yet.

I can't compress the stock alone by myself using elbow grease. Is it normal ?

There are two models. One with the springs. One without.

If you have the one with the springs you should be able to move it - compress it a bit.

As for compressing it all the way I never tried.
 
Needs to be broken in, that is my experience with mine...I've only got about 50 rounds through it and it is getting a lot softer but needs to be broken in more.
Revised....Went out and shot about 50 more slugs...This thing just kept slapping me on the cheek...It is not getting softer...It is brutal...takes the recoil up into your face instead of back into the shoulder...I took it off and put my Mossberg stock stock back on and what a relief...Wasted almost two hundred bucks on this sucker...Check out the youtubes on this thing...I'm going to try and sell mine or give it away...POS imo.

There should be a lever with a red rubber coating that slides in between the grip and buffer tube at 90degrees it has no tension on the spring and at 45deagrees it has full tension on the springs if that was removed and the tension is off it won't move

You mean that if the spring tension is removed, that the stock wont have the recoil capability ?

Ditto. POS. Already managed to pass mine off ;)
Recoil reduction systems on LEO or low-mount adapters seem to have the issue. Just invested in a high-tube from J&P. Pretty excited....
Anyone have an Enidine they're looking to get rid of??

Day's worth of slugs and 00 weren't much fun with the Knoxx setup.

I might not have had the issue if I had the buttstock fully extended, but I'm 6'2", and I like it pretty well fully collapsed. It ends up with the same LOP I keep everything else at when wearing a rig.
Cheek riser might help as well? I know they offer a near kit that has a side saddle.
I think it's the lip on the "buffer tube" that smacks you in the cheek.

Oh, put the muzzle of the gun on the floor and push down on the buttstock.

If it doesn't move, you either need someone heavier, or it isn't the shock-absorbing model.
 
Over time mine has broken in a little, but is still very difficult to move by hand. With all of my weight pushing on it it only moves about 1/4". Not as effective for "recoil reduction" as they claim to be, but still looks decent and feels nice in the hands! As for the cheek slapping, don't fire it fully collapsed.
 
I haven't tried the newer version but the older one had flex in the tube that contributed to the bucking cheek slap.
These stocks don't work well with bead sights as the cheek weld is a bit to high.....best with a red dot or taller sights.
 
Mine is the new version , and yes it slap me in the cheek.

I agree that a different sighting tool would be better, I have to put my head down too much to line in the bead , and then ....bang.....slap :)

I'll put a piece of masking tape 1/2 non moving part and 1/2 on moving part of stock . And see if it collapse.
