Recoil!

Cool page, thanks for sharing!

I'm sure there will be some of us questioning the accuracy of the data, but I think I will just use it as a general guideline.
I agree, take it as a guide only!

Hey, good info!! Thanks. I never noticed it on the Accurate Reloading site, guess I didn't look close enough. One of the heaviest recoils I've experienced is from my AYA 10ga. Mag, using 2.25oz handloads. I recall seeing somewhere, those loads were listed around 67 foot lbs of recoil. Its gotta' be up there somewhere. My partner, with those loads, had both barrels go off at the same time and it was enough to knock him out of his boat from a sitting position & get his nose bleeding.

Yes, I still have one. It's in mint condition, nice wood in the butt stock. One day when I figure how to take and then post pic's, I'll post them. I've had it for a 'few' years and was thinking of opening up the chokes so I could shoot steel shot but some how can't bring myself to do it. What I may do is 'gradually' build up a supply of bismuth although it is expensive, but then I don't do that much Duck & Goose hunting any more. At the gun show in Penticton a short while back, I talked to the bismuth supplier from southern AB, so like I mentioned, I think I'll start 'acquiring' some. I have a 'sack' full of wads as well as lots of old Federal hulls so all I have to do is break down & buy the bismuth. My partner keeps trying to buy it but I'm not ready to part with it just yet. With the old Federal Premium ammo, it does reach out a LONG ways.

Sounds like a beautful gun you have there!!

You partner had both barrels go off and he still wants to buy it!! Must be a glutton for punishment!!:D

The bismuth will proberly work well so good luck with that! BTW, ever thought od getting some slugs for that big boy!!:D:D
