Tikka t3x varmint couldn't be happier I have many pet loads for it.savage 10t $600 with 20 moa rail new , what a bargain. The tikka is much more refined but more then double the price.accuuracy wise some days it's a toss up.the savage shoots the Hornady 68 gr better then tikka,but the Sierra 69 is were the tikka shines as well as with the 75.

7 twist Savage. Hard to beat it for the cost, and everyone I've used has shot well. Kind of homely, but pretty is as pretty does. - dan

just settle for a "regular" CZ227 varmint vs the MTR. A few site sponsors have them in stock, namely tesro. The MTR stock is fine but not life-altering. Sell off the thumbhole stock and get a replacement IF you don't like the OEM one.
There was a non-MTR varmint on the EE last week (sold) and there's one on the EE now.
I agree the CZ527 offers good bang-for-the-buck
