Recommend a Long eye relief scope for cheap scout setup

So I have decided to turn my Mosin Nagant M44 into a cheap scout rifle for deer. I have ordered the b-square mount from Trade Ex that replaces the rear sight and I was wondering if anyone could suggest a long eye relief scope.

I am no looking for something expensive (it's a budget scout rifle after all). Just something that works

Any suggestions would be appreciated, I am new to the whole scope thing. All my centerfire rifles are irons only.

I like the Leupold IER. I know that some folks have used inexpensive pistol scopes but the eye relief is normally too long for the 9"-12" you need for a rifle. You might consider a Trjicon ACOG Reflex sight, which I believe has an infinite eye relief.

I bought one made in China for a very reasonable price.

Of course some of the top scope manufacturers make them but the price goes along with the brand name.

And don't forget that you will find two types with long eye relief. One marketed for hand guns and the other, for scout rifles. I haven't been able to find any significant differences between the two but I'm sure there are minor ones.

Also, before making a decision, I would look at red dots, etc. A scout rifle is usually used at shorter distances so magnification is not critical (X2-2.5 recommended).

ive tried all sortsof LER scope options on the Mosin, with pretty weak results.
the B-Square mount is, IMO, a POS and youre going to run into problems unless you modify it or try and bed it in with some JB weld. the mounting screws and set screws are quite poor.
you will need an aftermarket stock or a bubba'd raised comb because the combs of the milsurp mosin stocks are much too low. the scout mounts are much higher profile than a simple weaver base on a tapped receiver, so it further compounds the problem.

honestly if i had to do it all over again i would go with a PU mount and bent bolt. most of the scout mounts on the market are really crap, and by the time you factor in the cost of a good one plus a half-decent scout scope (there are no cheap scout scope solutions) you can get a repro PU mount installed that will also look a lot more professional. or get the type of weaver mount that you mount by drilling/tapping.

at this point after many hours of frustration i have 2 different types of Mosin scout scope mounts sitting in my parts junk bin and my 'hunting' Mosin is wearing its old irons again. another option is just leaving it with iron sights and upgrading it to the Mojo sight systems ghost ring sights, theyre not expensive - $74 for a front/rear set:
