I'm looking for a good quality folding stock for my rem 870. I bought an ATI top folder and didn't like it as is plastic and cheap. Looking for something solid (metal) and that doesn't get in the road when being fired in the folded position using pistol grip.

Any help would be appreciated.

???? i could probably help if i knew what you meant by that...scratch head...still scratching

In other words, doesn't fold in front of ejector port AND I can pump/cycle shells without hitting the folded limb.

The Butler Creek folder is decent and not too expensive.

The Ace folding stock setup is maybe the best of breed but it costs serious money.

Look for an original Remington Top Folder on EE

These things are sweet

Metal construction too, so no cheap feeling

i love those folding stocks remington made back in the day , i wish they would make them again
if you manage to find one expect to pay between 150-200$ good luck on your search.

The Rem LE folders are pure crap IMHO. If you can get over the excessive LOP which makes shooting it in anything other than a t-shirt downright awkward (which you wouldn't want to do, ouch).
Then one day its break the the butt will fold under the wrong way. If you've got it high on the shoulder then its not much of an issue, just slides up. If you are unfortunate enough to have it tucked in properly then it will promptly hit you with the flat top of the butt, this is beyond painful. Fortunately both times its happened to me were wearing armor and only shooting 2.75" 00 buck. I shudder to think what the experience would be like with a 3" slug and light clothing.
