I have the itch for a 12ga SxS just to use at clays when I'm feeling anachronistic.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I'm an enthusiastic, yet casual shooter. I don't compete, I don't hunt, I don't have kids to pass an heirloom grade gun down to, so I'd like to cap my budget around $1500, preferring to hit under that.
I'm not choosy about barrel length, be it a 20" coach gun or a 28" field gun.
But If it's a newly made gun, it MUST use choke tubes.
OR
Something good, yet reasonable enough in a fixed choke gun where I could conceivably buy 2 for my budget - an open choked one for 5 stand and skeet and a full one for trap.
Are the Boito/Stoeger guns Good Enough?
How about CZ?
The BSS looks like a tank, but they are up there in price for a fixed choke gun.
I can't find much on those Daudson ones Prophet River sells..
Cimarron has some nice stuff, but no info as to choke setup or country of origin.
Tradex always has a pile of old guns, but I'm afraid of parts breakage/finding parts.
