Recommend Mag Fed Pump Shotty?

I can't imagine how? Contrary to most designs, the shells are actually locked into the magazine. They cannot fall out.
When you insert a magazine into the gun; A protrusion on the magwell goes into a pocket on the side of the magazine, which pushes a button to release the shells.

The only downside is if you remove the mag before shooting all of the shells in it.
You'll definitely lose a couple of shells on the ground before the latch re-engages.

It is a cool set up , and I'd like to try it , But , I couldn't say for sure one way or the other having never used one .

At about 2:48 he makes a comment about them unloading themselves , but it might be older mags , maybe they've improved them .

Another vote along side tvpresspass for the SAP-6

I was crazy skeptical before I got mine. id read alot of bad reviews and alot of good ones. I got mine used and the guy I bought it from assured me it worked great. And, it does.

Ive owned a number of different brand mag fed shotguns. Some semis too. Many people talk down about the spring assisted pump on the SAP-6 and I would hazard a guess many of them have never tried one, or have never given one a fair chance. I find the spring assisted pump HELPS you cycle the gun faster and with more authority. Ive never had a feeding issue with mine with either the short or long mags and not with any type of ammo, 2.75, 3inch, buck, or slug. Mine is the newer version with the upgraded fore end and its super comfortable exactly the way it is. Mine also has the adjustable stock and its great just like it is. The ONLY thing I don't like about my SAP6 is that theres nothing I need to upgrade on it. Ive added a red dot on the rail and will be picking up a 14 inch threaded barrel (mine is the 11 inch) just to have around.

Id like to try a valtro. Thats the only one I havent run so far and it looks like its super high quality but IMO, has little personality. I like my guns to have a bit of personality as well as function properly. Mine SAP6 does both.

I think your review here just pushed me to choose the SAP6. I was worried about the spring assist and how the action doesn't stay open but sounds like it helps alot. The Valtro sounds great but I just don't like the look of it compared to the SAP6.

If your SAP 6 doesn't work out lol. I personally can vouch for Tactical Imports in that they offered me excellent service on resolving the matter.

Glad I found this thread, I am researching mag fed shotties and this is a gold mine of info, keep it up! I think a great working mag fed shotgun would be awesome,, 8-10 round mags quick change and away you go!

How'd you mount that stock adapter? I'm looking to do something similar to mine.

A little machining... not too hard, but you need the right equipment.

Casey at Tactical Ordnance did mine FWIW. I think he charged me an hour or an 1.5 hours labor and it looks factory.

The Mesa Tactical LEO stock adapter is originally for a Rem 870 BTW.

I got my inspiration from the photos of Casey's work. I too used a Mesa Tactial 870 adapter as it is a closer fit than the Mossberg adapter. My father-in-law has a milling machine, drill press and lathe; though the milling machine was used the most. He showed me what to do (been a LOOOOONG time since Metalwork 9!!), but I got it done in two hours or so including prep and clean up. I suggest you take it to your local gunsmith if you don't have the milling machine, or look to ship it to TacOrd and have Casey do it. It's well worth it, and you will have a mag-fed tactical shotgun for life!

Which one can you get parts easily for?

For that I'd say Adaptive Tactical.
It's 90% Mossberg. Most parts are easy to get from Brownells etc.

Also aftermarket stocks and extra barrels are abundant.

The other 10% of the gun is made in USA too.

Only one of the mag fed pump guns available in Canada has any real combat military use as far as I know and it's the Valtro PM5. That made the decision for me durability and reliability are paramount.

I'm actually a machinist, so no problems there. I'll be looking into this.

Exactly , not flashy just well built and reliable. Police and military have used them , the French navy uses them.
