Recommend me a see through mount for a 1" tube 50mm scope.

I have this weird fear of my optic failing and not being able to use the iron sights. So I'd like to find either rings or a one piece mount that are see through and ideally quick release as well. Picatinny mount.

The scope is a 1" tube and a 50mm bell.

Aero precision seems to make what I want in one piece mounts (but not quick release)

ARMS seems to have separate quick release rings (they are 30mm but can got down to 1" with adapters)

Any issues with these that I'm not considering? Any others I may have missed? Sage advice?

To see under a 50mm objective, you'd need freakishly tall rings imo. This would likely necessitate a cheek riser as well.Ever use see thru's? Very good chance of getting hit by the scope when trying to use see thru. They suck imho but ,to each his own. If you really want to have back up irons should your scope fail, you're way better off with a good pair of detachable rings imho.

I just put a quick detach mount, so that the BUIS i installed are actually usable. In the very rare case the scope failed, two latches will take it off.

Also, .45 BUIS work for this exact issue the best.

Never heard of someone trying to use BUIS under the scope, not a terrible idea, but I think it would be very difficult to pull off with a 50mm is all.

Relax...purchase a decent modern scope, sight it in, carry on. Get rid of the see thru mounts. See thru mounts prevent a solid cheek weld to the stock for an accurate shot with a scope.

This. Using see through mounts under a scope that big will make you shoot so bad you would be wasting $$ on the scope. If you buy a super cheap optic, the goal is lost already.

again, unless you have the neck of a giraffe you are only compromising your set up by going to see through mounts on a 50mm objective. Mount the scope in a set of weaver rings with the float screw base head, keep a quarter in your pocket, if you end up dumping your scope in the hunt, the quarter will help you remove the scope and you can then use the iron sights on your rifle. just remember to sight in the irons before you mount your scope.
