Hey looking to get my first handgun and after looking at my options, I feel that the since I can only hold 10 rounds might as well make them count so going with the .45 ACP. I like the idea of the 9mm but since the man won’t let me get 20 round mags might as well pack as much lead as I can in ten rounds.

So far I found a Taurus 24/7 with 10 rounds and a long enough barrel. Also like the idea of having a mag that is meant for 10 rounds rather then been pinned to 10 rounds.

I am only going to use it at the range and follow all laws required as long as our society remains with the rule of law.

So any recommendations or arms to avoid would be most apreachiated.

Cheers

My fav right now is the Para Tac 4. All stainless, holds 10rds, and a 'double action' trigger that is smooth as butter.

Just check on their website seem the only 10 round mags they got are the warthog and they have a 3 inch barrel unfortunately, now they have the TAC-5 and its configured a little differently, will keep an eye out for the TAC-4 though thanks.

ok just rechecked there website and it available. It can normally carry 13+1 but they have the restricted model that carries 10 rounds.

I guess to get a gun that holds only 10 rounds in .45 a lot of them are going to have too short a barrel.

SigSauer P250 10 rounds of .45
A 1911 with a 10 round mag
Springfield XD 45 compact 10 rouond mag
S&W SW990L 9 round mag
M&P45 10 rounds

The Tanfoglio Witness (the CZ-75 clone, not the 1911) is available in .45 and holds 10+1 rounds with non-neutered magazines.

10 round magazines are available for single stack 1911s, but they of course protrude from the grip.

I went old school and bought a Smith & Wesson 4506, and got aftermarket 10 round mags. Silky smooth action, dead on accuracy, and it will feed anything I throw at it. I love it sooooooooooooo much!

You have more reading to do.

All mags that hold more than 10 need to be pinned anyway, so don't look for a gun that holds '10', as most in Canada do (or can).

Single stack 1911 with 10 round mags. Done.

I love my H&K USP in .45ACP.

I find the single action after double action is a nice change up the safe action trigger of my glock.

You either want a 1911 or you don't.

If you don't want a 1911 - and you want 10 rounds of .45ACP, your choice is easy.

A S&W M&P45.
