hey guys, lookin to spend anywhere from 2-4k on a new sporting clay gun 12g. Wanted some opinions on what anyone would recommend. As of rite now leaning towards a beretta 682 e sporting, or beretta Prevail sporting.
Not much reviews on the prevail, anyone own one?

Those Browning Grand prixs that wwere on a thread here a while back seem like an unbelievable value of they still have them.

I tried the Gold E 32 " and a 525 32" before purchasing and loving a Guerini Summit ltd sporting w/ 32" barrels. I found the B guns were just too nose heavy for me.
15,000 plus rounds so far with no problems.

It's hard to go wrong with anything in that price range. The 682E is tried and proven. I haven't seen a Prevail yet but from what I see in the reviews it is the basic 68x receiver system with some added and interesting features. Guerini, Browning, Rizzini are other contenders.

Are you fixated on an o/u? Semi-autos continue to gain ground in sporting clays. The Beretta 391 is the dominant player with the Brownings in the mix too.

Hey Claybuster, i have a 12g semi auto, stoeger 2000. first gun i purchased about 8 years ago. also a beretta onyx 20g o/u that i love. Use them both to hunt. So when the time is right i wanna buy a 12g O/U strickly for sporting clays. those r the two ive narrowed it down too.

It's a good choice to stick with the Beretta as you already have one in 20 gauge and like it. The fit and handling of Berettas is generally common across their entire line. Depending on your urgency I'd be tempted to wait until the Prevail becomes available and take a look at one. However, if the need is immediate then the 682E would be a very good choice.
