Hi,

I have a TC Contender Carbine with a 7x30 Waters barrel and I'd like to add a couple of additional barrels to my collection, particularly one of 30 cal wildcats like the 308 Bellm.

Does anyone have experiencing sourcing new Contender barrels from a Canadian dealer or going through the hoops to import a barrel from a US source (e.g., Bullberry)? Any recommends on who to contact?

Now if you want REAL interesting stuff for a Contender, SSK Industries.

J.D. Jones is a Handgun Hunter International founder. He has made more Thompson barrels that anyone except for Thompson! I have had several barrels and everyone shot some mighty fantastic groups. I have kept my 45-70 14 inch barrel as it is a very effective big game hunting loading and will do 3/4 inch groups at 100 Meter. I have handgun hunted all sorts of game (where legal) with the SSK barrel on my TC. One of the best barrel offerings is the 375JDJ. This is a very versatile wildcat. YOu can hunt eveything from medium sized game to dangereous African game!

Regards,
Henry;)

stickhunter,
Contact Clay at Prophet River for your import needs..
A 7-30 Waters makes for a neat little carbine..
A friend I use to shot handgun silhouette down in Arizona with had one that he used for deer hunting..

I think if I had to choose one of the factory TC chamberings, it would be the 7-30, so I was thrilled to buy the Carbine with that barrel. I still have to pick up dies, so I haven't shot it, but I've been doing lots of reading and it looks to be really well-suited for the type of deer and conditions we have on Vancouver Island.

The thing with Contenders is that it's a shame to just have one barrel for them since they're purpose-built for changing chamberings. While I probably don't need more barrels, I'd sure like to start acquiring some.

I'm also quite interested in getting a shotgun barrel. I think TC offers only .410 as a standard chambering, but I did see that EABC sells a 28ga barrel --- that and the 7-30 would be a dandy grouse/deer combo.
