I was wondering if anyone could give me recommendations on books or literature that will help a shooter better understand shooting dynamics, tips, tricks or technquies which would give me a better understanding of shooting theory or methods. I find this forum very helpful and i am quickly finding out there is a lot to this. I have been around guns and hunting for many years and as i research more into this precsion type shooting, I am finding out how little I know and understand. I have watched this forums for a few years and im more of a watcher than a poster so hopefully i dont ask too many silly questions.

Thanks, Dave

I got some good tips from a read of "Competitive Shooting: Techniques and Training for Rifle, Pistol, and Running Game Target Shooting" by A.A. Yur'yev. It is an older publication of an NRA translated Russian olympic trainer. It was a bit of a slow read, but there were many things that were useful to improving my benchrest scores.

The book was written for Soviet athletes that shot, so it is not a beginners guide.

W. H. Fuller's Small-Bore Target Shooting is dated, but the Third Edition of 1974 still has a good deal of relevant information for the shooter. I think you can get it used from Amazon.

I've have all the Mapul Dynamic series. If you can get your hands on a copy of Magpul Dynamics - The Art of the Precision Rifle, it's a good video to watch.
