hi all,
i'm very interested in getting into the shooting sports, more for the enjoyment & putting to use the range time i put in. i realize starting at my age (41) & life (4 & 5 yr olds at home) indon't have the free time to
adequately train, but i still have a desire to compete, so other than the black badge what courses would you guys suggest? also are there any events that i should check out, while cowboy shoots look like alot of fun i'm more interested in IPSC, 3 gun, etc type of events. also, i'm doing the CAPS training in the future, would that be a suitable substitute for the black badge or is it mandatory for competing? thanks to all

Hey there, black badge is mandatory for ipsc so there's no substituting there and I'm not sure if cowboy action has any requirements but 3 gun and as far as I know idpa have no course requirements to join. Find the local ipsc club and head on out most people will be all to happy to help you out, you'll run into a few fun sponges along the way but pay no mind to those types. Don't worry about your age or time constraints even one good practice night a week with the right people can go a lot farther than you think,welcome to the addiction.
