Let me beat a couple guys on here who can't seem to figure out O/U doesn't stand for pump shotgun....get an 870 :p

You have a decent budget to get what you want. If you have a trap/skeet/sporting club nearby go for a day or two and check out what shooters have. Ask if they mind handling their guns and try a few out if they don't mind. Get a feel for what fits you best and works best for you. Ask who you can speak with that understands gun fit so they can help you to see how a particular gun fits you. See what fits you best and feels most comfortable in hand and run with it. With your budget you can get a decent target gun with a adjustable comb and maybe adjustable poi rib, butt etc. You can make any gun fit nowadays but there will always be one brand/model etc that works best for you so try a few out and then find the one that you like best. Plenty on the EE within your budget range that will work. In a Browning if you want an all around versatile clays gun the CX series is probably your best bet. No idea what Beretta has in that lineup?

Thanks I shoot a Remmington 3200 trap now with a 14.250" LOP and it's comfy...bit heavy but that's great for recoil. It's fixed chokes and I only shoot trap.
I'd like to Start shooting skeet as well

I don't know what kind of poi your 3200 shoots but generally with a skeet gun something a little flatter shooting that patterns in the 50/50 to 60/40 range is preferred by most. If you enjoy your 3200 for target shooting and well you should as they are a very proven gun maybe finding a used 3200 skeet would be a good idea. They seem to come up for sale regularly and about $1000 or more under your budget. You could also send your barrels to Lawry's to have Briley install thin wall chokes in them to make your current target gun more versatile and have someone like Vic Tomlinson put an adjustable comb kit in it and still be well under your budget for another gun if you like that option? You aren't far from either so dropping the gun off to them is simple.

Have you given your 3200 a try at Skeet or Sporting. You may be surprised with the results.

It that I would ever discourage someone from buying a new gun.

Spank’s reply nailed it. The other shooters at your club should provide lots of opportunities to try different guns.
