Hello all, I am looking for a recommendation for a smith to work on some nice older Colt SAA's. I am much less concerned about what said smith would cost, as I am concerned handing over a firearm that will potentially be worth upwards of 15K when the work is done on it. In other words, I want the work to be perfect, at any cost. Who would you recommend?
Scope of work would include fitting and rechambering a cylinder, refinishing, and or making/sleeving a barrel.

I would like to send them to Doug Turnbull, but was hoping we might have someone in Canada that could do similar work. I am not sure what is required to ship antique handguns to the US. Do you have any experience with this Dan?

I'm sorry, I don't know any expert SAA smiths in Canada. Might contact Rusty Wood, he does a lot of CAS stuff I'm told. - dan
