I’m looking for a red dot reflex style sight for an Ar 15. Ideally I would like something that has a no questions asked warranty. I was looking at the Burris fastfire 3 but I never see any on the EE so I’m not sure if no one sells them because they like them so much or if no one buys them to begin with. Some friends say just buy an eotech or holosun but I don’t want to spend that kind of money on a red dot without a no questions asked warranty. Does anyone have any experience on how the Burris sight compares to the eotech/holosun?

I see Bushnell and vortex have some entry level sights and they have no questions asked warranties as well so they are a consideration but I realize they are not in the same league as eotech etc. This is my first Ar and I’m on a limited budget so I would like to put money into ammo where I can.

The newer $199 Vortex Crossfire is pretty decent. Maybe not a life depends on it combat site but good enough for most of us. I have a couple I swap around on different shotguns and rifles.

There is much more fancy and hi end out there for sure. You can spend over $1000.

The Vortex Crossfire hits where the dot is every time. Good enough for me. If it screws up whatever. They will give me a new one.

Picked up a Vortex Crossfire for my 300BLK AR upper. Pretty good value for the $$.

Next step up, there's a SigSauer Romeo 4(?) that's around $260.

You don't need an Eotech. Holosun has a pretty good warranty - 2 year I think . Vortex has great warranty. If it breaks, they fix it or replace it. You don't need a Eotech. Just don't get complete junk and you wil be fine.

What's wrong with eotech? Overpricing or poor quality?

Just pony up for an aimpoint and you’ll never have to worry about cheap junk red dots like vortex breaking on you.
Warranty or no warranty, I honestly don’t even know what it is for aimpoint as I’ve never met a guy who had a warranty related issue. Closest thing was that guy whose home burned to the ground, and his aimpoint pro survived although melted every plastic component, battery still on red dot still visible.
Aimpoint comped him a brand new one and that red dot now sits in their showroom.
LAV actually mounted and test fired the thing, still retained zero.

For range purposes I got a crossfire for sale @ cabelas for $180 + $20 promo card off so only $160. For that price its impossible to beat. And since its a range toy I dont really give a #### if it breaks at all. My modern sportster is getting all the fancy stuff as it actually gets to go places :)

Im a big proponent on buying quality products as I have several aimpoints, eotechs and other high shelf products, however i personally did have a problem with an Aimpoint. One of my micro H1 sights sh!t the bed sitting in my safe. LOL

The sights would not turn on until brightness setting 8. I had to send the sight back to aimpoint in Sweden. The did repair it and sent it back to me in working order however top shelf sights can still break.

Saying all this, there is nothing wrong with an inexpensive vortex red dot on a range only toy. The warranty (if you need to use it) is top shelf.

Of course, no manufacturer has a perfect track record but you’re still statistically more likely to get a dud with a cheap manufacturer than you will with an aimpoint.

OP does not want to spend that kind of $$$. So might as well go Vortex. I have some $4000 scopes and $1000 red dots but I also have two $200 Crossfires that have 1000's of rounds through them. Mostly with heavy shotgun loads. No problems. Iron sites are still usable through the glass if it ever failed in the 1/10000000 chance a bear attacks me and the red dot craps out.

If I'm going to war then yeah....Aimpoint

I have had good service from TR-25 and a SPARC on AR-15s. Both are cheap to buy.

I smashed the lens on a TR25 with the brass coming out of a SKS. They replaced it. I like the Bushnell warranty.

I have a Trs-25 on my shotgun and like it quite a bit. I just had a scope replaced under warranty by bushnell no questions asked. That's why I want a no questions asked warranty. I don't want to buy a $800.00 optic and have a piece of brass break the glass and then be out the money.

That being said I have not heard anything about Burris. Is the fast fire 3 worth spending almost double compared to a vortex or will the extra money be better spent on ammo.

I have a vortex spitfire 3x three sparc ar and a sparc 2 they are all great for the money and with thousands of rounds through them I have had zero issues. The crossfire looks like a great deal and for the price it's hard to beat.
