Red Dot for shotguns

I am wheelchair hunter and was wondering if a red dot scope would help me with shooting birds?

On the wing, no. More likely a negative effect.

yes, it will. A lot of people will tell you they don't help at all, but in my experience they really do assist. I have noticed more hits with my red dot then without. I attribute this to a better fit with the shotgun and being able to see above and below my target. It will not make you a better shot... but if holding a shotgun and sight alignment is an issue with your disability this could help you.
