LPVO is much heavier and it is still a scope, so it will have eye relief, more parallax and the view is confined to the eye box. Turning the ring even with the quick bar is still a micro finger movement, and it takes time. It is a better a competition set up if there are close and more far away shots at smaller targets, because this kind of scopes offer many variety of reticle.
Reflex and magnifier are better setup for many close shots. It is much easier and faster to move the magnifier out of sight using gross motor skill, especially with heavy gloves. The problem is that the magnifier can get jammed into threshold if not careful, when it is in the "out" position. In a somewhat non-competition environment, like closing in to the target from magnification range to close up during movement, this is a much better setup.
Elcan Spectre DR is theoretically good, but the tiny magnification lever is a PITA to manipulate. Hence it is better to put a mini-dot on top. You kinda have to make up your mind what your default setting is and drill yourself into returning that setting after each use to prevent messing yourself up.
Another set up is to add a mini redot at 45 to a LPVO or an ACOG/Elcan. This is probably the best compromise next to mounting a Reflex with magnifier. Instant transition between magnification and red dot, with zero lost time. A good setup for comp, but also for targets that move up to you fast or you are closing in to the targets. The issue is that it may interfere with some of the head gear and the shouldering is different between left and right, and a bit difficult to shoot around the opposite side of the 45 mounted red dot, and the red dot won't work with the opposite side.
