I am looking into fitting a red dot into my SP01 Shadowline (basically a Shadow 1) without milling the slide. Options includes removing the OEM rear sight and maybe a Meprolight MicroRDS, a universal mounting plate for Burris Fastfire, Vortex, Sig Romeo etc or a Picatinny top rail for more brand options. Another option I am looking is the UM3 Sight Mount and Fab Defense USM but restrained by lack of Canadian distribution and reviews. I am trying to keep the pistol with very minimal mechanical alteration to keep it within the Production Class category. The UM3 and Fab Defense USM requires no mechanical alteration but throws it out off the Production Optic division. I already have a Bladetech holster which fits well, but I saw this CR Speed Model A which is priced just right. But while I asked few dealers, they seem not interested trying in fitting a Shadow 1 maybe because it might scratch the trigger guard of a new gun. Any idea if this CR Speed Model A will take the Shadow 1 securely?

If you wish to shoot both Production Optics and Production Divisions (IPSC) without many alterations the easiest and simplest way is to drift out the rear sight and put a dovetail adapter mount (Henning, Springer Precision, EGW etc) in its place for whatever optic you choose........If you decide you don't like Prod Optics you can then easily remove the dovetail adapter and re-install your rear sight to shoot Production Div..........If the Bladetech works with a mounted optic just keep the holster you have, but if you wish to have a race holster then the CR Speed Model A will accomodate your Shadow and has good retention, the much higher priced and newer WSM model has easier adjustability and will also work
