red dot on a Fabarm pump

I'm picking up a 14" Fabarm pump action and I'm wondering if any type of red dot sight will co-witness with the ghost ring sights, kind of like an EO-tech on an AR does. Will I have to take the rear sight off? Any tricks or gotchas that anyone knows about? This is my first shotgun.

We have had good luck with the Doctor Optics (range gun is set up with one), it is also possible you can get an aimpoint mounted low enough, but that might be pretty tight.
 
It would have to be pretty low, such as a docter like redleg suggests. I have a Fabarm sat8 and both the eotech and reflex sights are way too high to co-witness.

A note on the Doctor on that Fabarm. The last time I used it I noticed something funny about the sight when I did the pre-fire check. I had to take a second look, but I noticed the glass was cracked very badly, yet it was still working, so I decided to give it a shot and see how much it was affected by the damage. The answer, not noticeably.

Wow that's weird...

I have one slide mounted on my IPSC Open gun...

It's gets a tremendous amount of force with the slide action and I haven't had a problem (about 10k rounds through)

Could the body have twisted some how?

Our range gun gets dropped regularly by clumbsy customers and lazy staff. The sight lasted 5 years. It is a pretty durable unit.
 
I but a cheap reddot on my fab mart. 14 " / I took off the old sights, why do you want to co-wit the sights? incase of failure?
