I have a Ruger 44 coming in the mail this week and wondering about trying a red dot on it. I have the bushnell one on my turkey gun and love it but was wondering if the newer stuff have better optical quality ? I also have a Varix-3 1.5x5 sitting in a drawer. I like the concept but don't consider the optics of my Bushnell suitable for low light.

Red dot on my Ruger 44?

which ruger 44? a semi or bolt? I have a ruger 77/357 and have ran a leupold 1-4X shotgun scope, a 2-7x33 redfield and a reddot. I have liked all of the options but seem to go between the 1-4 and the 2-7 the most. the nice thing about the newer ruger is the rings make it so i don't really have to rezero the scopes once they are removed I just put the other scope in the other rings on and it is good to go.
