I just bought a savage cub for my seven year old daughter to use, and was hoping to mount a red dot for her. She has a hard time with the concept of lining up open sights, and eye relief really isn't an issue with the red dot, so i figured this would be a good way to start her out, but the base of the red dot isn't long enough to span between the front and rear receiver bases. Any suggestions?

The Tasco ProPoint family used to be threaded and there were extensions you could use to make them longer. A used PDP-II with extension and 30mm rimfire rings maybe?

Or sell me the gun for my 6 year old boy:)

the red dot i have is a tasco, doesn't work. she tried the cub out today(bought yesterday), and it turned out that she picked up on the peep sight right away. my worries were for nothing. anyway, you probably wouldn't want the rifle, its the pink one ;)
