Red Dot question

When a battery dies in a Red Dot scope, does the Red Dot scope always stay sighted in when new batteries are inserted?
Or do you have to confirm and sight in again?

Stays sighted in on everything I've ever used except my Burris Fastfire but that one is because it must be removed from the mount to change the battery.

I recently picked up a Primary Arms red dot and haven't had to change the battery yet but I don't think the zero has to be reset on a battery change.

If the optic stays in place, I don't see how the zero can possibly change when the battery is. Red dots effectively amount to little LEDs mounted inside the body of the optic. Do the cross hairs in an optical scope move when the windage and elevation dial caps are taken off?

They do not lose their zero. The zeroing of the optic you did is mechanical, not electronic. Well, at least the majority of them are... but I've been proven wrong before.

I remove the battery from my Bushnell Red dot on my .45/70 when I store it for the season and it's always kept it's zero. No problem.
