Red dot question

I have a 590 ordered and was thinking of putting a red dot on it. I have a Minox RV sitting here and was wondering if it would be suitable, or if there was something that might work better.

For the ranges involved, anything will work. Provided it can take the recoil abuse. So, robust build or good warranty

Low mount would be better than AR height .

What’s the intended use for it? I’ve had a rds sight on a few shotguns over the last 5-6 years and it’s fun but I always end up going back to the factory irons, they do work well for stationary targets with shot or slugs. I’ve ground swatted many grouse and a few rabbits with a red dot.
