Hi all,

I have about 1/2lbs of RED DOT powder and looking for some reduced load data for my .270win. I have 100gr, 130gr and 140gr bullets. I read that 12 to 13gr of powder would do the job but I would like to confirm with some of you guys as I don't have anything on my books. These loads will be for my 13yrs old daughter, she will be deer hunting with me this year and shooting distance will be within 100yds, mostly 50-75yds.

I would appreciate any input you can give me.

Thanks to all

Blue Dot is the powder you want to use for reduced loads for your daughter, RedDot is too fast. Data for this comes from one source that i know of and that is seafire on the accurate reloading website. I have tried his data in my 223 with 12gr of powder and a 40gr bullet, accuacy was very good milder report. FS

Shouldn't be any problem with Red Dot using 12- 13 grain loads, just google Red Dot reduced loads as there is a good write up for the Red Dot powder, I used lots of it in 25-06 and 30-06 with no problem, but that's for other's to use your own judgement.

What does a pound of Blue Dot go for these days? $25-30

Just hop on Accurate reloading and PM Seafire. He is always happy to help people out with reduced Blue Dot loads.

I just made some up in the 308 for my girlfriend.
20 Gr of Bluedot 125gr Nosler Ballistic Tip for about 2200fps. And darn near ZERO recoil. Load shot exactly one inch at 100m
