Red Dot scope on/off switch

I just picked up a red dot scope and have ordered an NEA upper handguard rail for my CZ858. Now I was just thinking it sure would be cool to have an on off switch for the red dot hooked up to the safety of the firearm. Switch the safety to fire mode and the red dot would be on.

I was thinking this would save the batteries on the scope, teach a person to use the safety, and would be a quick way to turn on the scope while out hunting. Does this exist or is there a better way?

A thumb switch would probably be the closest thing to what you are looking for, similar to what is used on flashlights. Might require a home wiring job to work, but is an otherwise simple solution.

Fitting it to work on the safety is not impossible, but it will require some wiring and gunsmithing knowledge, along with a good bit of time, to build.

Yeah, it's made by Aimpoint. You leave your optic on 24/7 and change your battery every 5-12 years depending on which model you choose.
