Is anyone running a slide-mounted red dot sight on a handgun? I'd like user feedback from those using something like what is pictured below:

(although that is a more sophisticated solution, where the slide is milled to accept the RMR)

Slide mounted RDS are common in NRA bullseye shooting - particularly in the US. Ultradot scopes are preferred as they seem to handle the G-forces more effectively. Loads need to be increased about half a grain to function. Using them on guns that shoot full power loads would seem to be risky to me. I would expect failure of the scope or the mount. That being said, as a bullseye shooter, all of my match guns wear frame mounted scopes in old Weigand unitary mounts.

Just don't forget the tactical bottle opener!

I bought the Competition model but wanted the benefits of the otherwise identical Tactical model except for the extended barrel. I bought a Trijicon RMR and installed the taller tactical sights so that the irons would co-witness with the RDS. I'm super pleased with this setup as IMO the co-witnessed sights are as fast as they can get for someone like me with "mature" eyes. I'll use the gun for IPSC and Steel Challenge.
