Can someone give me some advice here, which is generally better, a red dot or holo scope. My ggod friend tells me that a forawrd mounted holo scobe is excellent for my SKS, but I'm also thinking that a red dot would be sufficient.

Does a holo scope work best?

If so, can someone tell me what a good product is?

Anyone out there have anything used for sale that's a good performer?

Thanks.

I have 2 eotechs and one aimpoint. I prefer the eotechs, but that's just me...I like gadgets. The aimpoint is simple and not very flashy...just a red dot, 2 MOA. The eotech has a fine 1 MOA center dot and a bigger circle. For range and field use both are tough enough; jumping out of planes and APC's might be a different story.

Don't buy either unless you try them. Sponsors at top of page have them in stock. Bought my eotechs from The Shooting Edge.

I'd reccomend looking through, or better yet, trying someone else's setup and see for yourself.

I set up an SKS of mine with a holosight (I prefer these over red dots) and quickly found that, really, I like magnification. I changed my setup later to a compact 6X scope and am much happier with that.
