Red Faced...

Had an aught-6 Remmy 700 that did that with the old Winchester silver tip ammo... Think I could get it under 2moa with anything I tried?... Ha!... SMK's, Amax, hot core, interlock's... Several powders primers and brass... Blah! I just gave up and sold the darn thing.

Hoyt that sounds like the same "#2432" Winchester silver box that shoots well in my old Stevens. I try to buy all I find however they seem to vary greatly lot to lot, although I did have issues with the barrel/crown about that time. Ended up shortening and re-crowning.

Good luck on the recipe.

My 308 has been pulling the same kinda crap on me lately. Seems no matter what I try I can't cook up a load to beat 150 gr Federal Power Shok. Fricken stuff will put ten rounds into 1-1/2" at 200 yards

I am not familiar with the bullets in these factory loads; or the bullets you can't get to shoot well in your handloads.

However - There are some barrels that will shoot a flat base bullet very well but puke with boat tails. I bet the OPs Winchester ammo had flat based bullets.

I will pull one and see... I still have ten boxes from the same batch...
