Has anyone put a red dot on a cz 452 before? Does anyone make a dovetail to ? Footprint adapter?
I'm just thinking it would be an ideal quad or pickup or walking grouse gun

MDT makes a dovetail to weaver mount specifically for the 452/457. I have had one for a couple months works great. Just be aware it is a rather tight fit so you will probably have to tap it in place with a soft hammer or wood block.

EGW makes a dovetail/Weaver adapter which would open-up the mounting options, and I've tried them. Great solution, but I've found the optic sits a little high for my liking.

Eotech makes (made?) a model that mounts to 3/8" dovetails, not 100% sure about them on an 11mm dovetail? Would look pretty big/wide on a CZ receiver anyway, but it's model EOTech XPS2-RF

Sort of wish a company like Holosun (who makes very good red dots that are affordable) would make even a basic red dot with a rimfire mount=simple.

Hawke makes 25 and 30mm Aimpoint T1 style reddot that clamp to 9mm- 11mm dovetail. For under 200.so will work with 3/8".

Then vector optics makes a mini hud display one for 11mm dovetail.

I dont like using adapters, risers etc if I dont need. As 22 said It adds extra height.

When buying a dovetail-to-weaver/picatinny adapter for a CZ 452, users should be aware that dovetails vary by model and caliber. Some have a 3/8" dovetail, others an 11mm.

I will edit this post to add the comparison of the two dovetail sizes.

there are adapters available for under $20, have one in use on a Savage t/d with a reflex sight, so far so good
others will say these are useless, and I might agree......someday

I got these from the East India Company of retailers, and they work perfectly on my 452 American, which has 3/8 dovetail. Won't work on 11mm. Let me use a variety of parts-box Weaver scope rings.

boxhitch - I've got a set on my Marlin-60 holding a Covenant-4 6-24x50 FFP scope all summer now. They were $15.45 plus tax.

Mine could have been a different brand. I couldn't tighten the Weaver clamp over top of them enough to keep the scope from moving. Work on the 3/8" dovetail find tho'.
I only ever used UTG brand and used them on European rifles as well airguns.

Could also be your rings.
