Redding Big Boss II press

I used to be a hardcore RCBS owner until the first set of Redding dies came my way about 5 years ago.
I still use RCBS for their 1500 Chargemaster and their case centre unit but I've been steadily replacing with Redding dies every chance I get.
The Rockchucker will likely go to one of my nephews to get him started as well as all my older RCBS dies.
Once you've loaded on a T-7 you'll chuck rocks at your Rockchucker.:D
 
I'm thinking that I need an upsize in the press department. My Rockchucker, while great, is just a tad small for teh 416 Rigby and just a hair over too small for the 470 NE...I can just barely load those big buggers but I have to put the bullet up into the seater before I put the case in the shell holder. It's probably funny as hell to watch though...
 
I like my big boss II. Remember to screw your neck dies in a little extra to eliminate the toggle feature. I've read the toggle can damage collet dies.
 
Didnt feel the extra cost of the t7 was worth it :) not that hard to unscrew a die from the press and I load for about a half dozen cartridges. My rockchucker worked, but I was wanting a 2nd press so I could load at the range. Good excuse to buy a new one :)
 
I have one and use it for .223 Rem through .338 Lapua AI - has anybody attached a side bar automatic primer feeding system? I have only seen one in the catalouge and find it difficult to tell if it would speed things up or not.

I would love a turret press, but I was told by experienced people that the turret presses have a little bit of play, and since my interest in reloading was for precision I went with a single stage.
 
Forster Co-ax is #1 followed by Redding and RCBS, but like all my purchases, I wouldn't buy Chinese if at all possible, Lyman are solid as are Hornady. I'd put Lee and chinese at the bottom of list. I enjoy my sport/past time too much to "just get by" with cheap stuff, made of aluminum and pot metal.imho

My old school Rock Chuckers are all US made. I understand that the new Rock Chuckers are cast in China and then final machining and assembly is done in the USA. Comparing the old RC to the new RC Supreme, I'd have to say the newer press is just as well made, if not more so.

As for RCBS electronics, I'm sure most of that is built in China, just as 90%+ of the rest of the free worlds electronics are.

Regardless of where it is built, RCBS stands behind their products 100%. I've picked up used and abused Lube-A-Matics at yard sales. Call RCBS, tell them where I got the LAM, they still send me all the parts I need to put it back into working condition for free. Didn't even charge for shipping. Have had them do this multiple times for everything from abused dies, to parts for my Auto-Progressive press that caught hell from Canada Post in shipment.

That kind of service warrants customer loyalty.

No, no... I fell asleep trying to find out what happened to Bartel's Rock Chucker. I think that's been answered now anyway. :)

I just got my new Forster Co-ax and am amazed at how well it works.. I can FL resize 223 cases with out lube because of the mechanical advantage. Is alot easier than my Dillon 550 for 223. The primer seating system has alot of feel to it so you know every primer is seated properly.. am glad i spent the extra money..
