Hey guys,
i just purchased a bushing die set from redding and was wondering what tension you use for the bushing.

im loading a 243
lapua brass

ive sized and loaded a couple and have a very consistent outside neck diameter of .271"

i have read that i should start with a neck tension of -.002" but the problem is the local shop only has .268" which is .003" neck tension, would the one thou really impact accuracy, build more pressure...

what do you guys typically use for neck tension when buying a bushing for your dies?

the firearm will be magazine fed so i cannot have the bullets to loose.

thanks

Brass usually springs back around 0.001". Get yourself a set of gauge pins. These will accurately tell you what the ID is after sizing.
