Can anyone tell me if redding dies are any good, I'm looking to buy dies for my 40-82 win and when i checked buffalo arms they have two choices redding dies for about $65.00 and rcbs dies for about $155.00 or if anyone reading this has a set and wants to sell them let me know. Thanks Matt

Yep. Been using die from both for eons. Seems to me they were the same company at one time. Redding is the same quality as RCBS. RCBS is just a bigger name. .40-82 would be a special order from RCBS.

Interesting that you'd ask about Redding dies as I was going to pose that very question tonight. I was in town today and picked up a few things at one of the local toy stores (including the Nosler #6 reloading manual) and a set of Redding dies for my .270WSM (sold out of RCBS dies in that particular chambering) After checking them out, I like the fact that the decapper stem & bullet seater adjustment screws are both locked in place with a knurled locknut that doesn't require a wrench. The die box contains the allen wrench for the die adjustment locknut and they came with a spare decapping pin :) The local prices for RCBS were $39.99 and the Reddings were $43.99 so not a biggie in that department. If they build hunting ammo that shoots consistantly, I'm a happy camper :D

They are excellent dies and I have been using them for years. They make fantastic competition grade dies, their presses and powder dispensers are amongst the most accurate and very durable.

Thanks for the info guys I wanted to ask the question before I bought a set as there was an $85 doller difference between the Redding and RCBS,I guess you know which ones I'm going to order then. Thanks Matt
