Made the plunge to start reloading. Just got a Redding Powder and the measure throws by volume rather than grains. For those that use them whats the best way to determine how many grains a throw is. Do you throw a few, weigh and make small adjustments to get the correct weight. The micometer is graduated but I gather that is not is grains? I have been shooting for 30 yrs but never had to reload, I feel like an ass asking such questions. The reloading game is new to me but looking forward to it. Any opinions appreciated.

I threw and adjusted until I reached the weight i wanted then threw ten more and measured each to make sure it was repeatable. I record the micrometer setting for each load so I can quickly readjust.

I use my Redding measure only for my pistol loads. What I do is set up my digital scale and throw/adjust until I get consistent throws several times in a row. After that, I check every 10 or 20 rounds.
I have the Model 3, and find it can be tricky to keep it consistent. However, I'm sure a powder baffle will help as I find the charge weights vary depending on the amount in the cylinder. I'm hoping Wholesale or someone will have one that fits.
