Just saw a post on Facebook with this new PRS-style event coming to CHAS just outside Edmonton and wanted to start a discussion for it here.

I'm not affiliated with them at all, i'm interested in attending as my very first firearms related competition shoot. I've never even stretched my .22 beyond 100yd.

I see it on the schedule, but no more info. Rimfire competitions are a lot of fun and not so ammo expensive. Can be a rabbit hole for sure though.

Sherwood Park Fish+Game have been doing monthly PRS-style rimfire matches for years now.

Greg puts on a good match. I’m the PRS director at Canadian Historical arms range ( CHAPRL-Canadian Historical Arms Precision Rifle League). Greg and I are trying to coordinate our dates so there is a Saturday Centerfire and Sunday rimfire match so that those who have to travel could possibly make it worth the trip to Edmonton if they are traveling from away. I will be starting a thread soon here and try to list both dates.

Adam.

Very good. Edmonton is a quick trip down from Dawson.

The Rednek Rimfire at CHAS are fun matches out to 300 m or so. They are not officially scored by any organization. If you have never shot out to that distance you might want to get your feet wet at some of the shorter range matches first. Sherwood Park Fish and Game runs ORPS (Outlaw) once a month East of Edmonton, they are also starting NRL22 this month. Buffalo Target Shooters in Kananaskis are running NRL22, so is Medicine Hat. You don't specify your location, but there is something out there for everyone it appears.

Me? I’m in Dawson. The matches I shot last year were out to 400.
