Reduce stock length

savage weather warrior mod 16 ..is it possible to cut 1 inch off the synthetic stock and replace the recoil pad

Anything is possible, I have cut an 1" off some of my syn. stocks but a pain in the a$$ to do. Just buy a Boyds stock and cut that off, looks better to.

I have done hollow synthetic stocks and if your handy its not real difficult but a bit of a PITA. You need to shape a piece of wood to fit inside the shortened hollow stock and epoxy it in. Then you attach a grind to fit pad and fit the pad either by using a pad grinding fixture ( my preference) or taping the stock and grinding. If you do it yourself it costs only a bit more than the price of a pad but if you get it done it's probably as cheap to get a Boyds stock.

i want to keep the SAVAGE ACCUSTOCK the Boyds is a none accustock ..thanks for the feed back ...

can be done, depending on the pad configuration, you may need to grind it down to fit the inside of the stock, and the outside diameter as well as to fit the stock. The screw mounts inside will need to be set back and drilled deeper. Depending on the length cut off you may need to shorten a screw a thread or 2 to avoid having it come through the outside of the stock. While at, fill the stock with some spray foam to take the hollow ring out.
