I am wondering if anyone has any proven and nicely reduced loads for a .270 Win. I'm looking at handing one down to my son, and plan on starting with bullets in the 90-110gr range. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I use in myy0 rem 700 chambered 270, 52gr of IMR4350, and a 100gr rem core lokt bullet, great coyote load, recoil is similr to 28g shotgun, velocity is around 2860fps, remington does make factory loads" managed recoil" ive been told they are great for beginner hunters, helps them not to be gun shy, but the hodgdon website in their loading data center is the best i find for data

IMR4064 is a great powder for reduced loads in the 270 Win. It gives far better accuracy than any other powder I have tried, and works well with 130 gr bullets too.

Ted, What do figured on a load..around starting 42-43 gr. ? Ive been wanting to play with this and load some for my father who doesnt' care too much for recoil.

I have tried a reduced load of H4895. Take the max charge or 45 gr (Hodgdon reload data center) and take 60% or the max load. I do this with 130 grain Hornady interlocks. I keep the 130 grain so I do not have to bugger around with changing anything for the seating die.

So end result is 130 grain bullet over 27 grains of H4895. Works really nice. Very soft.

But there is a disclaimer - hold over would about 4 inchs high at 100 yards. It might be different in your gun, but this is what I have experienced when experimenting with this load.

Cheers
