Anyone out there have a load developed for the 300 Win mag using SR4759. I'm looking for the accuracy load using 180gr bullets so I have a general idea where to expect the accuracy load to occur. I will then start at a 10% lower load and work up carefully.

SR4759 was designed for reduced loads, and is super bulky and easy to get along with. The boys with the savage muzzleloaders keep the shelves bare around here, but should guarantee its production forever.

You may also want to try Trail Boss. I have not tried it in my 300 WM, but have used it in 22-250 (great 22 hornet simulator BTW), 7.62x39, 303 Brit and 308 win. I think it is a truly great powder. While it was originally intended for straight wall brass, it has proven effective in bottleneck cases as well. Look to be filling your cases from 70% - 90% capacity, before seating your bullet. I'd bet you could push a 180 around 1800-2000 fps for a nice, comfortable load.

Thanks I'll have to try that as well. I will be shooting alot of reduced loads this winter out to 400 yds, so 4759 will be powder of choice for the moment. I will also try Trail Boss out for snapping off hand shots for those close up, gotta shoot now shots.
