My new refurbed MN came with an 8 lb trigger pull so I did the Finnish armourer's trigger modification to it.

- Bend the sear spring down a bit to reduce sear engagement.
- Reshape the back surface of the sear to vertical and the top surface to horizontal.
- Polish the top surface of the sear spring as well as the sides of the sear.

It took less than half an hour and reduced the pull to 3 lbs!

The only downside is that the trigger still has a long pull with an imprecise leftoff as they all do.

If anyone wants a copy I can email you the drawings with an English translation.

Did the same thing to mine. 3lbs with the usual sudden letoff. For the most part it works, but once in awhile a shot goes out of the group because of it. I just enjoy the Mosina for what it is.

It is easy to reduce the long pull. Slip a little, piece of shim stock or plastic (credit card) between the receiver and the trigger.

Once you find the right thickness, a dab of contact cement will hold it in place.

I did the trigger job this afternoon and am impressed. I bent the sear and polished the sear sring, sear and bolt lug face. I didn't need to shim it. It is a lot smoother and lighter with about half the pull length. I think I need to reduce the angle in the sear a bit as it is still a bit stiff at the end where it pulls the bolt back.
I am going to the range tomorow and put it to the test.
Also, the sear is low enough now that the bolt goes into the receiver without pulling the trigger. Passes all bump tests.

Huber concepts makes a no-gun-smith trigger. I have two, but haven't installed them yet.

Of all my mosins (polish M44's excluded) I have ONE with a decent trigger. The rest are like gritty like eating sand :p

Do your groups tghten up after all this trigger tuning? Just wondering cause in everything but the most extreme cases, I don't notice any improvement.
