Sent my paper work in on the 14th of march after challenging the exam so the hurry up and wait game. Sent regular canada post as i didnt find this site till after that says send it with sig required but oh well.

Just out of curiosity what kind of question do they ask your references? does anyone know? as well what do they ask you?

thanks just most a curiosity thing then anything really.

Were you forced to sign the application to act as a referrence?

Are you free to talk about the applicant?

Does the applicant show a fascination with workplace shootings.

Describe an occasion where you saw the applicant act violently?

If you thought the applicant was going to commit a violent act, what would you do?

That type of crap.

Basically the CFC assumes your a criminal.

For YOUR interview, they basically just go over the application questions like have you recently lost a job, why do want a restricted PAL (target shooting is your answer).

thanks for the info seems like some silly questions but hey I guess if they catch 1 person that is a little off it might be worth it.

My references got the call today, they basically asked that first question ("Were you forced?") then just asked if I was a violent person, and how long they had known me. Also gave them a number to call in case I went postal (like 911 isn't good enough) and that's about it. Probably depends on who does your interview. I was expecting them to ask me how I would handle a violent situation, or if I would ever use a firearm in self defense. Basically just asked me all the same crap as my application.

Got mine in the summer of last year, they(government) called the two references I provided and me but didn't call and talk to my wife, probably the person with the most to fear if I go off the deep end.:ar15:

The Government works in strange ways don't they.

Those questions about how would you handle violence and stuff are very strange one to ask that's for sure it like going to a job interview and being asked what kind of tree you want to be.
